Led the effort to define the system architecture requirements for a Pension and Annuities system for a major insurance company. Selected to present workstation prototype to numerous customers and at a number of conferences throughout North America. System Architecture was finished on time and under budget. Proposal support, Manassas, VA 1986-1988 Performed technical and schedule analysis of the Mk2 Fire Control System for Submarines, a $400 Million bid. Performed independent assurance of the software sizing estimate for a major Navy proposal, a $2.5 billion bid, to provide a Command and Control System for a new submarine. Manager, Monitoring Subsystem Development, Newport, RI 1985-1986 Managed department of nine programmers and engineers, responsible for engineering, software development, testing and training system development for the Trident submarine on-board Noise and Vibration Monitoring Subsystem (100K SLOCS). Performed program management of scheduling and customer interfacing. Project completed on time, under budget and was recognized for exceptionally high product quality. Lead Target Motion Analysis Programmer, Newport, RI 1975-1985 Led development programming effort, of Fire Control Subsystem (300K SLOCS) for the Trident submarine. Developed training and graphical display software as well as background processing programs. Generated machine code patches for the on board military computer resulting in quick fixes. Performed system engineering and led programming responsibility for the complex algorithms of Target Motion Analysis. Recognized by peers, management and customer for expertise in finding solutions to precision and timing problems. Co-defined and implemented a new algorithm for target motion analysis that earned an Outstanding Innovation Award. Programming for a ballistic missile defense system, Morris Plains, NJ 1970-1975 Wrote software that generated threat input for real-time exercise of Safeguard ballistic missile defense system including coordinate transformation routines, complex algorithms of targeting, integrators and scenario generation programs.
